The tour at a glance
Looking for a cycling tour in the Dolomites that combines epic challenges, UNESCO World Heritage landscapes and the magic of one of the world's most iconic mountain territories?
The Dolomites are every cyclist's dream — legendary passes, roads that climb towards the sky and views that take your breath away at every turn.
Cycling in the Dolomites means taking on the mountains in their most spectacular form, in a territory that has written unforgettable chapters in the history of world cycling!
Tour itinerary
We start with a Shake-Down-Ride: the perfect way to get to know each other, find the right rhythm, and get a feel for the terrain before diving into the heart of the adventure!
We set off from our hotel to take on cycling's ultimate legend: the Stelvio. 48 hairpins one after another, all the way up to the 2,758-metre summit of the highest mountain pass in the Eastern Alps — a milestone earned one pedal stroke at a time!
Day three offers another legendary experience: the Gavia. A wild, rolling climb through woods and stone and silence, opening up in its final kilometres onto a moon-like landscape leading to the refuge at the top!
A day to recover and transfer to our new base in the heart of Alta Badia: just the right amount of time to catch your breath before getting back on the bike among the Dolomite peaks!
Day five is what every cyclist dreams of: the legendary Four Passes loop, a sequence of iconic hairpin climbs — Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena — surrounded by rock walls and views that look painted!
We set off toward the Valparola, past Austro-Hungarian forts and views opening onto the Lagazuoi and the Tofane — a pass that tells a story of both history and mountains at every turn!
Our last challenge is the climb toward the Falzarego, beneath the unmistakable silhouettes of the Cinque Torri and Lagazuoi! A cycling adventure that makes you breathe the most authentic soul of the Dolomites!
Day eight is dedicated to the transfer to the airport and final greetings!
We hope these days among the peaks of the Dolomites will stay in your heart — we can't wait to welcome you back on the bike for your next adventure!
☀️ Climate and Best Time to Visit: The Dolomites are a spectacular cycling destination from June to September, when the mountain passes are free of snow and high-altitude temperatures are ideal for climbing. July and August offer the longest, most stable days, but September is the golden month: tourist traffic thins out, the air becomes crisper and the larch forests begin to turn gold — a unique backdrop for tackling the great climbs!
🍷 Local food and wine: The Dolomites are a borderland where Mediterranean flavors meet Central European tradition. From canederli (dumplings) to speck, from mountain-pasture cheese to classics like apple strudel; not to mention polenta served with wild porcini mushrooms from the surrounding forests. All paired with white wines from Alto Adige and craft mountain beers — the perfect refreshment after every hairpin conquered!
🧭 Terrain type: The Dolomiti Grand Tour routes run on high-altitude asphalt, along the great Dolomite passes made famous by the Giro d'Italia: challenging gradients, scenic switchbacks and excellent road surfaces. A true open-air training ground for every road cyclist!
🎮 Extra activities for non-cycling guests: The Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offer incredible experiences for those who prefer not to ride too! From alpine huts reachable on foot, to mountain lakes to discover, Ladin villages rich in history, and shopping in Ortisei or Corvara — the days fly by for non-cyclists too!
